STEWART BRINGS HOME TWO AWARDS FROM THE 2006 WORSHIP FACILITIES CONFERENCE & EXPO (WFX) IN DALLAS, TX
Dallas, Texas November 10, 2006 Stewart Filmscreen Corporation® announced receiving not one, but two awards from the recent Worship Facilities Conference & Expo (WFX) held at the Dallas Convention Center. Presented by Church Production, Worship Facilities, and Church Sound Magazines, this new awards program was specifically aimed at recognizing the most innovative new building and technology products to hit the house of worship market.
Participating for the first time at WFX, Stewart Filmscreen's AllRise® was honored with the award for Best Video Screen, while StarGlas®, a new groundbreaking rear projection screen received Best Overall Video Display Product.
The AllRise responds to demand from the house of worship market for a largeformat, electrically operated screen that does not require a permanently installed ceiling mounted enclosure. Impressively sized at up to 15'x20', the AllRise has unique arms that move to the sides when fully extended, leaving the light path to the image area unobstructed for rear projection applications. Of course, the AllRise can also be used for front projection. The AllRise is perfect for the house of worship market, where high cathedral ceilings prohibit a ceiling mount, rear projection is often preferable, and religious icons and inspiring architecture dictate the need for a screen that is hidden when not in use. When the video presentation is over, the screen disappears back into its casing, allowing the spirituality of the sanctuary to take center stage.
Recent trends show that more and more worship facilities are using rear projection screens to provide a large picture and to compete with high ambient light conditions. StarGlas, a rigid rear projection screen, provides both a big picture and an extremely bright image even in environments where the light can not be controlled. The unique, proprietary diffusion screen layer laminated between a specially formulated glass substrate helps dramatically boost the amount of forward light transmission while reducing backscatter, provides uniformity, eliminates any potential ‚hotspotting, and creates extraordinary contrast. StarGlas also has viewing angles that can accommodate large audiences whether you are sitting front and center or off to the sides.
StarGlas qualifies as safety glass and can be installed where these regulations are specified in building codes. This screen can also be mounted directly onto the ground allowing for full floor to ceiling video wall applications. Just as ordinary glass used in windows, this innovative screen will not be harmed by everyday sunlight exposure, it cleans extremely easily, and has a long lifespan, allowing you to make a onetime investment on the perfect screen, without having to upgrade or replace it in years to come.
